The Department module in the Academic section lists all the departments of your institution. For example, in an institute, we can have multiple departments like 'The Department of Commerce', 'The Department of Science', 'The Department of Arts', and just like that in colleges, there might be some departments like the 'Department of Computer Science', 'Department of Management', and etc.

This module is optional, if you don’t want to create departments - you can ignore this module and jump to program.

To access Department, go to Academic->Department from the menu. Ensure that you have the academic-department:manage permission to access this module.

To add a new Department, click the 'Add Department' button at the top right. Then, in the forms, you can add the details of the Department, like its name, alias, and description. You can assign a unique code and shortcode for identification across various platforms.

Once you create departments, you can proceed to program module.
