Sessions in the Academic Module show the academic years or a duration that represents a specific academic calendar. For example session ‘2024-25’, ‘Fall 2024’, etc. Each session can have multiple periods (term or semester). For example, 2024-25 can have two terms or semesters Autumn 24-25 & Spring 24-25.

If you have just one term or semester under your session then you can skip creating session and proceed with period.

To access sessions, navigate to the Academic → Session tab from the menu. Ensure that you have the session:manage permission to access this module.

To add a new session, click the ‘Add Session’ button. Enter the details of the session the Session’s Name, Alias, Start and End Dates, and the Description. You can also assign a unique code and a shortcode for identification across various platforms.

After the creation, the sessions will be visible in the list and you can further navigate to the period module.
