The Timetable module stores all the details of the sessions or lectures of different classes. By clicking the ‘More’ button, you can perform operations like printing, allocating, viewing, editing, duplicating, and deleting them.
To access Timetable, navigate to Academic → Timetable
from the menu. Ensure that you have the timetable:read
permissions to access this module.
Before you start working with timetable module, make sure you have already created Class Timing as mentioned in the previous article.
To add a new timetable, click the ‘Add Timetable’ button (must have timetable:create
permission. There, you can select the batch, Effective Date (The date from which the timetable will be applied), Room Number (optional), and Description. Below that, you can choose the Days and the Class timings or shifts, you can choose whether the day is a holiday. So each day in the timetable can have different class timing or same class timing based on your requirements. It also means that days can have different number of sessions which you can set under class timing.
After saving the added timetable, it will be available on the timetable lists.
You first need to allocate subjects to this timetable before you take print. Click on the “Allocaiton” button of the timetable. Users with timetable:allocate
permission will get this option. Each session under a day can have its subject, room number and the employee. To manage room number, you can navigate to Building → Assets
menu. Subjects and their incharges will be available to select from dropdown. You can also have multiple selection option under every session. This is useful in cases where one session is shared between different subjects. For example, say Grade XI students have opted for either English or Fresh language. In that case, you can select english as first session and then add another sub-session and select French with the room number and incharge.
The employee list is populated as the subject incharges you have created in the subject module. That means when you choose any particular subject, only subject incharges from that subject will be listed in the employee dropdown.
